Google’s Adventures in Telephony
In recent Google News, Thomson/GE is building a Google-411 feature into their consumer phone hardware.

I won’t speculate on how this will be monetized in the future or what exactly Thomson/GE gets out of this whole affair. What’s important to me is that Google, and more importantly, Google Local Listings are saturating all manner of technology, accurately fulfilling my past Google Predictions.
There can be little doubt where Google is headed with this and other technology: Telephony. Since I first started using Google-SMS in 2006, I realized the power of integrating search into the device that everyone was carrying around in their pocket, the mobile phone. Local Search is going to exponentially expand the reach of search products, and importantly for advertisers, Paid Search Listings. We can only guess what will synergize with our mobile devices when the Gphone is released.
If ever there was a time to straighten out your campaigns and take advantage of professional PPC Management, it’s now. I’m frequently amazed by what we can do with targeting now. You want to target Surfers from Perth, Australia? Say no more, it’s done. Crotcheting Widows from Manitoba? Done.
As mentioned in a previous post, the Web is one of the few areas of the US Economy forecast for double digit growth this year. This is why.
