Got a Great Idea to Help Others? Google Wants To Know.

Written by Justin | September 26th, 2008 |

In celebration of Google’s 10th anniversary, they have just recently announced an initiative to commit $10 million to fund the best ideas people have that will help other people.  This initiative is called Project  10100 (Project 10 to the Hundredth).  The name of this project is actually derived from Google’s namesake, a googol.  Apparently, a googol is a one followed by one hundred zeroes.

Google Strikes Again

Written by Anne | September 23rd, 2008 |

Google announced today that they will be releasing a phone in late October. The G1, which will be hosted by T-Mobile, has integrated into it some of Google’s more popular applications such as Maps, G-Mail, and YouTube. For Google, this means an even further reach, not only in their advertising reach (each of their applications boasts content targeted ads) but also in their goal to be a part of people’s lives outside of the internet. Recently, Google introduced the ability to provide radio, newspaper, and TV ads, theorizing that they could influence potential customers for their advertisers through every step of their day. This also means that the iPhone, now has stiff competition, with Amazon.com already announcing that their mp3 library will be fully compatable with the G1. Retailing for $179, this phone will just push Google further ahead of the curve. The phone is scheduled to release October 22nd, which, happens to be one day after my birthday, hint hint. Am I the only one who will be running to the store?

Shop.orgWe’re headed to Vegas on Monday for the Shop.org Annual Summit. The event is touted as being “the one show that consistently provides superior education, high-level thought leadership, unbeatable networking, and an inspiring look into digital retail’s future.” We’ll have to take their word for it, since this is the first time Location3 Media is exhibiting. We’re very excited to see what it’s all about and to make some new friends in the online retail industry.

Branded Keywords: To pay or not to pay?

Written by SammieAnnie | September 12th, 2008 |

We recently had a client that requested we bid less aggressively on the brand keywords as they are already positioned high in the organic listings. This is a pretty common request; however, it’s one that we rarely advise. What many clients forget to consider is the following:
