124 Pounds for Virtual Food Drive

Posted on December 15th, 2008 in Shows and Events by Angie

Location3 participated in a virtual food drive this year, hosted by blogger Beth Z of Life on Avenue Z. We collected a total of 124 pounds of food items, which we are donating to the Food Bank of the Rockies.

Virtual Food Drive Donation

The Avenue Z virtual food drive started with a goal of one ton of food pledged by December 17. Participants were asked to leave a comment on the blog, stating the amount they would donate, and then bring the items to a food bank or other charity in their area. After a great response (one couple alone donated a ton of food), the goal was raised to two tons.

It’s wonderful to see people using the power of social media for good. The success of this food drive shows just how influential and far-reaching it can be. We are honored to participate in this fabulous charity and we’re sure that Beth Z will get her two tons.

I can’t tell you what your efforts mean to me. What generous souls you are… Please thank your office and your friends. This matters. This is important. And you stepped up.

PS — which floor “won” the contest?
