Google Content Targeting

Ever wonder how to select “themes” for your content targeting campaigns in Google? A nice easy method is to do a web search for your main theme(s) (e.g., college degree on Google). Choose Show options:

and then from the left hand navigation select Wonder wheel (under Standard view).

Naturally, you must take into account  your client’s business and remove anything that would not relate. In this example, anything fake.

You could run this type of exercise for all your key ideas (i.e., ad groups), and then run those through the keyword tool to generate keywords around those themes. Remember, with content campaigns, use no more than 20 keywords per ad group, do not use keyword insert and I would highly suggest using no negatives as it can negatively affect the theme of the ad group.
