New GWO Feature: Experiment Notes

Google launched a new feature for Google Website Optimizer (GWO) yesterday. The new feature, called Experiment Notes, provides a text area in each experiment where you can jot down info about the program. Oftentimes when we work on an GWO project, there are numerous teams involved—our WOAC team, the client, their IT department and sometimes others. Experiment Notes will be a helpful way for everyone involved to share ideas, alert the entire team to updates, mark off milestones and simply provide info about program. Google Summit 2008 Recap

Curious about what went on at the Google WOAC/GAAC Summit held at their Mountain View, CA headquarters last month? No need to endure my bland storytelling. Check out this fantastic hip hop video by my new friend Paul Chastain and fellow WOAC at Just1. I even have a fleeting cameo–don’t blink around second 36 or you’ll miss it–that’s me discussing our GWO case study. Next year I plan to have a longer spot as a background dancer. Especially since being named a Google Website Optimizer Authorized Consultant (WOAC) this week. WOACs are recognized as being knowledgeable and experienced with Google Website Optimizer (GWO), one of the search giant’s more recent features. GWO is a landing page optimization tool that helps advertisers improve conversion rates by determining the best content and layout for their sites.

Google Post-click Optimization Tool Now Out of Beta

Google Website OptimizerYesterday was an exciting day for our creative design team—Google announced that their Website Optimizer tool is now out of beta. Google Website Optimizer (GWO) is an advanced testing tool that allows advertisers to increase conversion rates by determining the best layout, design and content for their landing pages. Our team has been working with the GWO system for about ten months—familiarizing ourselves with the tool, learning how to effectively develop and carry out landing page optimization tests and evaluating results so that we may apply findings to future experiments.
